Maghi Purnima is the last day of the month of Magh and after that the month of Falgun begins. According to mythological beliefs, by bathing in the Ganges and donating in holy pilgrimage places on Maghi Purnima, 32 times the virtuous result is attained. According to the scriptures, on the full moon date, special worship of Goddess Lakshmi and Chandradev is performed with Lord Vishnu. Devotees do Kalpavas for a month at Teerthraj Prayag and then conclude the fast on Maghi Purnima. On Maghi Purnima, all Kalpavas offer food to the sages and Brahmins by worshiping the aarti of Mother Ganga. On this auspicious occasion of Maghi Purnima, clothes were distributed by our organization to the needy people in Gangasagar. Donating to the needy on this day gives a lot of merit.
